I had to read 'Freud On Dreams' this week. this is me making fun of it
dream: picture an old western town. now picture a rushing river instead of a dusty road. picture houses instead of stores.
a bunch of people i don't know are hanging out, plus joe. someone is trying to deliver pizzas via the river, but a flash storm decides to come through. we all must get out of the house. the pizza guys come with us, with the pizzas. we jump on a raft and head down the raging water, and start to panic as we approach a waterfall. the managers of the pizza places the guys were delivering from encouraged and coached us down. once safely down, we headed over to my parent's house where we promptly go into a van and left. my parents brought pizza for all of us (joe plus my whole family). the pizza is topped with vibrant purple and green fruits and veggies made out of felt. it tasted pretty good actually.
the felt comes from lindsay's valentines last week.
pizza..... saturday night dinner.
old western town? no clue.
coaches? i dunno
raging river and storm? the never ending storms that is utah
freud is crazy. and i don't know where dreams come from. whatever.
i will never read his stuff again.

Siggy (as he loved to be called) was a personal friend of mine. I taught him everything he knew when we were in grad school together, so I will interpret your dream for you. Its meaning is obvious even to the novice psycho-therapist.
The old western town is a recollection from a previous life where you worked in a general store selling household goods. That is why you feel nostalgic every time you watch Bonanza. The people hanging out are former customers, all clamoring to get their money back for the bogus invention you sold them, the automatic pizza maker. It was bogus because it ran on electricity which hadn't been invented yet. The flash storm symbolizes the stormy atmosphere of the lynching party that came to perform a little rough Western justice, which is why you had to get out of the house. The pizza (I'm assuming here that it was pepperoni) represents the Italian nature of the old western town, surely you have heard of spaghetti westerns, no? And so the pizza guys would be cowboys who worked for your wealthy mother, sent to rescue you from the angry mob. They get you headed down the river (clearly a symbol of freedom) and the waterfall is the leap of faith you had to take to find a new life beyond the western frontier in yes, Hawaii, where your parents had retired due to their love of pineapples, coconuts, and shave ice. The reason we know it was Hawaii was the vibrant purple and green fruits, native to the island of Maui. The felt was symbolic of the grass skirt you wore as you danced for all the tribal elders (coaches in the dream) who gave you pointers on how to do the hula.
If you're not in the fetal position yet, I suggest you take an antacid before going to bed.
Shall I tell you about your father's day...he had to sit through a very boring, all day presentation...those are really hard for him, as you know, as it is mostly information that he has heard thousands of times trying to be presented in yet another new way, which drives him crazy! Thus, the off-the-wall comment...I think he really, REALLY needs to go to Cancun...what do you think?
